Obtaining Samples

Obtaining DNA samples could not be easier! The dadcheck® service uses mouth (cheek cell) swabs to collect samples as this is a simple, quick and painless way of obtaining samples for analysis.

Who can take the DNA samples?

• We strongly recommend having an independent 3rd party take the samples, which can include solicitors, social workers, practice nurses/midwives or GP’s. Please note however when dealing with GPs that the majority of surgeries will charge for taking the samples and this is NOT included in our pricing. This will be an independent transaction between either yourselves or your clients/family and the surgery.

• If your client is based in the North East of England or is willing to travel, then you can arrange an appointment on their behalf for sampling at the dadcheck® offices here in Sunderland. We do not charge for this service.

• If you are within a 100 mile radius of our offices then you can also benefit from arranging for one of our trained samplers to visit you and sample your clients either at your offices or at a family contact centre for example. Please note that charges do apply and are assessed on case-by-case basis. Please call us on 0191 516 6632 if you would like to arrange this.
